You'll climb the grade no problem but I don't know how well your yard will fair if it's wet.
As others have said, pay no attention to the miles or hours. There's a good chance they don't represent actual miles or hours. Just go by the condition of the truck.
I've got a boilermaker friend that burnt a hole in his eardrum. Doc says he'll fight it all his life. Can't hardly hear out of that ear, drainage, it will get infected if he gets any water in there, and air blowing into his ear drives him crazy. He wears cotton in that ear to keep the air out...
:ditto:
Go ahead and put a bolt in the shear pin hole temporarily. With the PTO in neutral, try and turn the winch driveshaft backwards with a pipe wrench or you may can use a punch through the u-joint. If you back the band brake off a little it should help you turn the driveshaft a little easier.
No plans to scrap it just yet. It just depends on how much the FD butchered it. I talked to a guy today that saw the truck and says the pump has been removed and a hole is cut into the back of the tank to dump into a dump tank like FD use. I can weld AL easy enough so the hole shouldn't be too...
I don't see a stack in the pics but the description says "diesel". The description also says it's a 1979 model but the headlights are in the lower position so I doubt that.
GSA and I may have a problem if it turns out to be a gasser.
I kind of shot from the hip and won M50 tanker off of GSA today. Upon further inspection of the pics it may be a parts truck. Does anybody know what these tanks were made of? I did a search and some people say aluminum and others say stainless.
For the price I got it for I'm ok with it being a...
If it folds down to the ground the wedge would have to be on the cylinder end. Otherwise you'll be shoving the wood into the ground when you try to split
The NAPA guy is an idiot. I've never seen a AL brake line and a 3/16" flaring tool won't work on 1/4" line.
The spiral wire does help on chaffing but it's not mandatory.
Patracy, I'm not sure this whole feedback thing is working out. Two of the better guys on here have negative feedback (Steelandcanvas and Papacom). I don't know what the solution is but it doesn't seem it's a good measure of a persons reputation.
The airless skid steer tires are a little better than solid rubber tires but not much. They are basically soild rubber with some holes cut in for some give. These new tires are supposed to have the same ride and characteristics of air tires. I've seen some vids and it's amazing to watch the...
If you have to ask somebody on base for directions, tell them you're trying to get to the DRMO. Most people on base know where the DRMO is but haven't even heard of GL. Every GL lot I've been to is located in or beside the DRMO lot.
Air dryers exhaust every time the compressor kicks out. It doesn't matter if there is water in the system or not or if the dryer is clogged. At least that's the case with every air dryer I've been around.
If your air dyer is releasing every minute or so I'd say you have a fairly large air leak.
They are probably made in the states, shipped to Antarctica, Americans buy them, and bring them back to the states.
There's a good chance they're made in China though. What isn't these days?
