It's engine oil for sure. front, top of oil pan is covered in oil. The only thing that could be up in that area is oil or coolant.
Jwright, Did the balancer have oil on it when you're seal went out? That's the only thing that has me puzzled. Seems to me if it was the seal it would throw oil all...
Ok, I have to ask. What are the M101 mounted tanks used for? I've never seen one mounted under a M101. I'm thinking to carry fuel for equipment but how do you get it out of the tank?
If it list the quantity in pounds instead of number of items it's a scrap sale. That's usually how I take a quick look at the listing and can tell.
Scrap sales aren't all bad though. You can find good equipment listed as scrap sometimes. Just make sure it doesn't say "mutilation required"...
Gimp, top of the engine is dry as a bone. The best I can tell it's coming from the front oil pan bolts. I haven't ruled out the front seal but I'm leaning toward the oil pan (plus it's easier to install a oil pan gasket than it is to install a front seal).
I took about a 30 mile drive in the deuce today. When I got home I walked around to the passenger side and noticed oil splattered on the step. Upon further investigation the axle and front of the oil pan is covered in engine oil. My first thought was the front seal but when I looked closer the...
Yes, they can be a pain to reset. Some people will hop into a Detroit powered truck and think the emergency stop is the engine stop cable. When they pull it you have to reset the flaps. We have an old Mack with a Detroit and the flaps have a lot of wear. The flaps will hang in the closed...
At the risk of starting another A2/A3 war I'll give my 2cents.
The A3 does have improvements over the A2 IMO. I don't think it's worth that much over the A2 though. That and I personally don't like the looks of them.
If you like the looks of an A3 and want a auto trans, Cat engine, air...
Really? It doesn't look like the 5-ton PTOs I've seen. I did think the gear type and placement kind of looked like a 5-ton. Which truck would have used this PTO?
I googled Arrow Gear and got this- Arrow Gear Overview - General Information "In 1947, Arrow was founded by James J. Cervinka and Frank E. Pielsticker. The company began operation in a small industrial building in Worth, Illinois. After a move to Lyons, Illinois in the 1950s, the company...
Most civilian over the road trucks do not pivot at all from side to side. As a matter of fact, the side to side movement could get you in trouble if you're not careful. If you're going to be loaded heavy on the front of the trailer I'd definitely wouldn't want it to pivot side to side. I'd lock...
The key is to find out what it goes on. The color leads me to believe it's some sort of MV PTO. I know it doesn't fit a deuce or a 5-ton so that narrows it down a little. Have you done a Google search of the numbers on the tag? If you can't get anywhere with the tag numbers I don't know what...
I'm going to say you have a sending unit issue. Most gauges I've see either work or they don't. Shorts or bad contact in the sending unit rheostat can cause the gauge to jump around crazy.
