    Yes, the parking brakes are mechanical and actuated only from the handles. As long as you keep your axle, and brakes on it, the parking brakes will work.

    The axle has a vent, a one way vent. It is not a relief valve. Is the truck was building too much air pressure, that is unrelated to your axle leak. Learning to use the manuals is kinda mandatory if you want to maintain your own truck. Understanding the air system is kinda important too.

    No puller will be needed. Reshimming the bearing cap, may be needed.

    If you have an ether kit, that is a spray nozzle and it must face a certain direction. Do you have plugs in the spark plug hole and fuel nozzle holes, or did they leave them on the intake elbow when it was converted to ether? You could remove one and modify it to take a line for the boost...
