I picked one up recently. No oil in the crankcase. I added oil and a new filter. Results-
Oil pressure starts at 25psi and drops to near nothing as soon as the oil starts getting warm.
Bogs down as soon as load applied. Rpm drops and so does voltage and oil pressure.
I'm thinking bearings...
Rerouted the fuel line to a clean jug of fuel. Routed the return line to a clean clear jug.
Steady stream of air bubbles in the returned fuel, varying in intensity with rpm.
@&$&$^@!!!!!
LMTV rims fit 939series 5tons. Presumably the reverse is true as well. Since 5ton rims are generally a little more expensive than LMTV rims I havent seen anyone motivated to do so, while the LMTV rims become a cheaper option for the 5ton owner.

I've seen bunches of them leak fuel here, but I've never had one suck air from this point. Anybody else?
History - I drove this truck from IL to NM a couple years ago without incident. The new owner drove it a little bit, ran it out of fuel, dumped old nasty biodiesel...
Not my truck. I haven't seen it in person and won't for a couple of days.
The guy said he hit a bump and shook everything up and now it acts like it's starving for fuel and won't go over 40.
My thought is throttle cable. I'm trying to get ahead of the curve with any other suggestions anyone...
Cause not found. Upon arrival to AZ the master cylinder remains full and the pedal remains high and firm. I'd like to think it was just a bubble that was purged....
The thing about the air pack is that it's about the only place for the fluid to go where you wont see visible evidence of a leak...
I concur.
The air pack provides a place for fluid to escape, and a source from which air can enter. Unless I'm missing something (which is entirely possible)
Despite having gone through it thoroughly in June and paying special attention to the brakes, I lost the brakes entirely, entirely without warning. Pedal to the floor, no response.
No crash. No damage. No injuries. Downshifting got me slow enough that my newly installed park brake stopped it...
A2s frequently have two filters. One on the block that's as simple as it looks. The second one on the firewall is a cartridge cannister filter and is also straightforward. Not all A2s have the one on the firewall.
