I have an 802a and two hydrovane compressors - these dont have tanks and are 2 hp.
The 230v compressor starts and runs fine - the 120v compressor would stall out the generator but I found
a trick to get it to work and that is to open the airline when you are starting the compressor = less load...
Thanks Carlo - actually the governor, on the other end of the FIP is what needs the fluid, and that is one of the
things that I have checked so far and it is ok.
I see you are selling your 432 on mil-web, wish I could have bought that one LOL
Have you ever loosened the injector lines on the...
Thanks - I replaced the orig fuel pump with a small 24v one I got off ebay - so no collector tank right now with any gunk in it.
I've loosened the hose that goes into the top of the FIP (fuel injector pump) and it looks like there is a lot of fuel flowing - but it is
old stuff - I tried some new...
08 EA 23 was delivered to me a couple of years ago - when it came, there was a note inside
to 'bang on the fuel pump' to get it going. I had to move right when I received it so it has
sat in storage for 2 + years. The fuel pump has died for good. I found a substitute 24V pump
on ebay and worked...
So is is possible to import this to the USA ?

I remember that you can't import USA armor from WW2 but this is not a lend-lease vehicle and
it looks...
OK - I just got 2 MEP802a's. One works fine, I thought the second one was good too, until I went to connect up the main power lugs and there was no juice there.
So here are the things I have tried / found :
1) When you fire up the generator and hit the AC interrupter switch, the AC...
A dumb question :)
There does not appear to be a 230V / 240V 'convenience receptacle" on the MEP-802A - so what is the best way to accomplish this ? I have a Miller Welder - draws 21 amps on 230V (max) and has a 6-50 NEMA plug on it - I am buying the generator to among other things, run this...
Well - maybe not so wrong after all. I received my reply back from the ATF - it is perfectly legal to sell your armored vehicle imported to the USA on a Form 6.
So that such fairly important info does not get lost I will post the ATF letter and response in a new thread ...
Recently as part of another thread there was a discussion as to whether or not the approved Form 6 for importing armor (and other things) stamped as : 'NOT FOR RESALE' meant that you were not allowed to sell your armor after it had been imported.
Instead of guessing, I emailed them. And even...
Augdog is CORRECT and I was wrong - I went to double check my paperwork today after seeing this thread again, the approved paperwork is, in fact, stamped NOT FOR RESALE.
Just to be sure I emailed the BATFE and will find out right from them. When I get a response, I will post back here.
Forgot cost - I spent about 24k getting mine to the west coast - and I paid 'extra' to go thru a dealer who screwed me in a minor league way.
east coast and buying from an individual I think you could get it down to 15 to 20k depending on the exchange rate and how good a deal you could make...
I don't remember any 'Not for Resale' stamp on my paperwork for my 436. Maybe I missed it, but I dont think selling these as a private seller is much of a problem - I see them on Ebay ever couple of months and I doubt all those guys are 'dealers'.
As for doing a sorta-business in these, waste...
I'm not sure how long the ATF paperwork is good for, it was either a year or 6 months - so you can't do it too far ahead. Tanks and APCs are basically the same thing - they just both have to be de-milled correctly to get thru customs. The 436 I have is already de-milled by the British govt so...
Sure I know you guys would like to see it :) - so would I LOL .
When I get it all sorted I'll invite you guys over for a beer and a look-see but it's going to most likely be next spring or summer before that happens.
JD :
I've posted this elsewhere - go here for the best experts on this...
I am almost certain this is the answer to the main issue with not starting - just found this vid today, if I had it last year I think I would be a much happier man :)

Yes - I got it and then got a new job in TX LOL. So it sits in OR - this job is over this fall (knock on wood) and I'll be back then.
The unloading was quite the experience. The truck showed up early so we had to rush up there. Get there and the APC wont start, evidently they unloaded it from...
And I bought an FV-432 from Bob Grundy and it had a lot of problems he never mentioned.
I would never buy from him again. So YMMV.
Congrats on the new armor.
We just made this trip a few weeks ago - car hauling a trailer Vegas to San Antonio - that was the last half of our trip from Oregon. That's a lot of driving and a lot of hot. We stopped in Holbrook AZ 1st day after seeing Meteor Crater (way too expensive but a helluva sight) then Roswell NM...
Ok the files/manuals have been uploaded in several places. This link should take you to where they are. Might have to sign up as a member of the FV432 forum to see them, but it's a small place and anyone who has a 432 should really be a member there anyways - tons of info there...
