Am interested in possibly adapting the deuce to plow snow, was wondering if anyone has done this and can offer me so advice or pictures of the installation, or advice regarding how the deuce does doing this type of work...thanks for any comments:tank:
Check the important things portal axle seals, check to make sure the lockers are all functional, that the trans shifts smooth and that the electicals work as designed. These vehicles are expensive to repair and the parts cost is prohibitive compared to a deuce or other american MV. I love the...
OK so I have a guy willing to sell me 7 fmtv rims that I would love to single out my deuce with but will need to have adaptor plates made, are there any members with the skills and the resources to do this and keep the cost reasonable? Let me know if anyone is interested ....thanks Pinz
I dont want to use the stock rims with my 395's although many have done so I am hesitant as a few expiereienced tire guys have told me I am stretching the boundaries by trying to mount them on stock rims and they all flatly refused to do them for me. I know that there are several machinists on...
Can any one tell me if this rim is a good fit to single out my deuce? I understand that adaptor plates would have to be fabricated but just wanted someone with more expierience in this give me the go...I think these rims go on a 5 ton???
I met Kenny awhile back when I wanted a 5 ton steering wheel for my deuce..He has a nice shop, a good inventory of trucks and parts and this is a family owned and operated business...good people!!
Thanks Gunfreak I have seen alot of folks with 395s mounted on original rims on this site but see others trying to discourage the practise, as for me..nothing ventured..nothing gained2cents
Yup went to my local tire shop and was told that he would mount them on 10 inch rims but he didnt want to mount them on stock 9 inch rims because of liability. I will eventually get the hemmt rims after I find a set of 6 for a reasonable price..so in the meantime..I will mount them myself!!!:-o
found this on a old post "
I just had G20's installed on stock duece rims and used Firestone Tubes. I got them from Tires Unlimited in Dayton, Ohio, they cost 33.24/pc+tax. The item # is 1EK69, Description on the invoice is" 1100/1200/1380/1480R20 RADTBE TR44 ". Their phone number is...
Ok, so I finally scored a set of 395 tires for my deuce. No money for hemmit 2 piece rims so I want to mount them on the original duece rims. I understand that I must purchase tubes to make this happen but what size tubes? and who has them at a reasonable price? I see 10x20 tubes on ebay cheap...
It happened twice to me personally, once at the dump getting rid of some garbage one of the attendants came over touching my truck and telling me how he had been in a Pinzgauer in afganistan and how the vehicle had saved his life many times by getting him and his boys out of some hairy...
