    What is it?

I picked up 7 of these at an auction. It appears to be some sort of dc filter maybe? Most of the wires just come in and go straight over to the out plug but two of them go in and out of the little silver thingy that looks like a DC filter. The really cool thing is when I looked at the attached...

    Is this a good deal?

My transmission went out in my M1010. I found one today from a local guy coming out of an M1008 that had 20,000 miles on it when it was last parked two or 3 years ago he wants 500 dollars for the set. Of course I have to remove it from the truck fortunately it is parked on a concrete slab in his...

I have an m1010 with axels that supposedly came from a suburban with 3.73 gears. I have entertained the thought of returning it to stock. M1010 somebody talk me down

Riggermedic's M1010 (formerly talk me down thread) Probably the wrong place to ask, but will some one talk me down from my addiction? Looking at a m1010, already have a gorgeous 1009, I think she may like a companion. I am ok with looking for common Cucv issues but what are the 1010 specific...

    12 volt circuit breaker

I read a post about replacing battery cables and wiring and recall something about a reset able circuit breaker. I ordered one for radio buss in my 1009 that I added (12 volt in back passenger side). I recently upgraded the 12 volt wire that runs from the front battery across the firewall to the...

    I have an electrical question

I installed some accessory back up lights to my M1009. They are 18 watt LED each side. If my math is correct then 1.5 amps each. I am thinking this is a bit too much to just tap into the stock back up light. I also want to add a dash switch to turn these on, but without turning on the stock back...

    riggermedic's M1009

Hello all, in June 2015 I bought a 1986 M1009 with 65k miles. As far as I can tell it is in close to perfect original condition. There are no screw holes, repairs, welds, and very minimal rust. The guy before me just had a lot of work done including 5 new tires, a new steering gear box...

    1009 hot weather operation

Just bought an 86 1009 here in Phoenix AZ. Been in the triple digits lately and am curious if I need to summer-ize. I have not yet added a water or transmission temp gauge. Any suggestions? Should I go with thicker oil to compensate for the higher temps? I appreciate any suggestions.
