I've exhausted my search efforts and not coming up with anything. It's painted in stencil right above the drivers door vehicle tag. Excuse me if I'm totally ignorant to it's meaning, just cuious. Thanks.

    M1031 backup camera

I installed a two camera backup system in my 1031 today. I can't see much behind it and angle parking seems to be just about imposible to back up from. Has an extra port for a dvd player and camera's come with built in microphones. They have infared lights that shine 50 feet. Love it. Pointed...

    M1008 class 4 hitch install

Just put a hitch on today. I did a lot of measuring to find a hitch that would fit inside the factory brackets. I ordered this hitch from my local hitch shop and it's made in Michigan no shipping fee for around $170. I dedided to cut the bottom lip off the factory support brackets and after...

    M1031 build

I had been considering building a truck out of all my spare parts laying around. I found a 1031 utility bed that I ended up buying. I was going to use a 3/4 ton setup I had for the frame. Recently I ended up winning a M1008 that was in terrible shape so that ended up being the drivetrain I am...

No fuel to filter at first

So I won a M1009 I'm still not sure what I'm doing with it. Just wanted to mention one of the issues of trying to start it. I had to install a radiator, fuses, glow plug card, air filter, starter relay, temp sensor, and fuel filter all missing from the truck when I got it but had all of that...

    New 1028

I bought this truck for the frame and axles. When it finally showed up I considered putting it back together. They took a lot of good parts off it and threw the junk in the back. Front fender, inner fender, battey trays and batts, injector, two fuel lines were robbed. They cut the hoses out...

    Homemade trailer

I have a trailer I built out of a 86 2wd 1/2 ton. Pulled the bed last weekend and used the extra box and bumper from my 1028 in a lot better shape. I'm sure someone on the road will think I killed a military truck to do this. Oh well. I use the heck out of this trailer, now it will have some...

My first trip to the sand dunes with my M1009

Towed up my little camper about 170 mi to Silver Lake Sand dunes for opening weekend. Just before I got there I overheated the tranny on the bigger hills on the west side of the state. I really didn't think it was enough weight to do that in these temps but I was way wrong. I put in a tranny...

Anyone ever install a nos m1009 rear end?

I just ordered a M1009 surplus nos rear end and it's on the way. It's said to be complete drum to drum with e brake cables and all. I'm concerned about the seals and brake parts from sitting. Anyone install one of these or know if it's ok to just throw them in and go?

Caution buying wilson alts from napa

Just wanted to sum up the problems I have been going through for the last 4 or 5 months. I finally have a working alternator system. When I first drove my M1009 home the front battery died and I decided to buy alts from Napa and replace both with lifetime parts. I caught the truck on fire at...
