I have since sold my deuce due to unforeseen circumstances.
What I ended up doing is registering my truck in Maine. They do not require a title, but get every piece of paperwork you can find. I "sold" my truck to my buddy and then he "sold" it back to me, giving me a bill of sale. If I...
Your chances are good as long as you have a couple hundred bucks. I got my whistler from Boyce Equipment. They shipped me out a good used take-off. Top-notch people to work with. Now I gots me a whistler!
I'm looking for a towbar that can handle 5-tons and a spring seat. I won't be at the rally personally, but I may know someone who will be there. Thanks.
Holy crap. I dunno where you enisteins are going with this, but the gauge is hooked up with 12 volts like it was designed to be and it is working fine.
I can't beleive the power my truck has. No issues with pulling out into traffic, always power on tap. I had never driven a deuce before mine, so I don't have anything to compare it to. All I drove in the military was 818's and 931's.
I had Saquishmike take mine for a ride and he said it's got...
So the answer is, yes, the C turbo does work on the LDS 465 1A engine. Just finished my install an now I have a glorious deuce whistle! :driver: I have not noticed any loss in performance or boost (I have a boost gauge). I dunno how you guys do it with those quiet turbos and mufflers and...
Thanks, DH. I got it all figured out. I hooked the lights up in series for my EGT and my boost gauge and use my 24v to 12v converter for the gauge power. Works great now. I'm actually pretty surprised at how high my EGT's are and how much boost I have. I've got an LDS 465 1A in my deuce and with...
Thanks for the help guys but I'm going to say this for the third and hopefully final time-
THIS GAUGE REQUIRES 12 VOLTS TO OPERATE.
If you scroll down to the pictures you can clearly see two wires for the light, two for the probe, and two for power and ground...
This gauge does require 12 volts for the gauge itself, not just for the bulb.
That's a good heads up on shortening the leads. I cut the original eyelets off the ends of the wires because they were too small for my gauge. I put bigger ones on but didn't lose much wire so I should be OK.
So I installed my EGT gauge in my truck today. My original plan was to use a 24v to 12v converter to do the install and then I would have the converter to use for other stuff anyways. Well, my buddy convinced me that all I would have to do is hook up the light for the gauge in-line before the...
Obviously it's not an ideal situation but when I was in the army we ran ALOT with one flat dual, usually multiple flats on one truck. I can actually remember a time we got back from a mission and we had one flat on every dual. The worst part was we had to change all the tubes ourselves. We would...
Sounds like alot of haters in here. Personally, I'd love to be able to toss my trikes in the back of my deuce and cruise at 75 mph to New Hampshire or Maine. :driver:I think this guy has a great idea. If it's not for you guys, don't buy it.
Personally, I'd just be happy with a higher fifth gear. I'd prefer to leave my engine and everything else original. If you're going to go hog-wild and spec out an entire truck, you can do any gearing you want. What's a couple thousand dollar tranny when you're dropping 10-15K into your deuce?
For 10 months in Iraq we drove 818's for 8-12 hours a day, 150+ degrees. The only difference between that and a deuce is the muffler. During the last two months I would have a migraine hedache every day we got to where we were going.
Wow. A higher overdrive would be great in my truck, and the power to pull that high gear is a non-issue for me (LDS 465 A1). Not sure how soon I could swing $1400 though.
