Got the new m810 running but...

I finally got the M810 running-the manual shut off was stuck shut. It seemed to run ok but when I snapped the throttle it went to wide open. I shut it down right away but it seems to have stuck in the pump. The shaft will turn and the return spring was on all the time so I'm sure it's...

    bleeding 800 series fuel system

What's the easiest way to bleed the 800 fuel system? Read the TM and it said to pump the air out with the hand primer. Seems like it would take forever as the whole system including the filter housing is dry.

    unknown auxilliary transmission

This one is much bigger than the "brownie" unit I've seen in the past. It goes probably close to 400 lbs. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

    unknown auxilliary transmission

Some time ago I picked up a spicer auxiliary transmission at Coleman's. It's painted CARC so I'm assuming it's military. It has the round drive flanges like a 5 ton driveline. It's a four speed; 1 OD speed, 1 direct, and 2 under. The OD is 75%. Anyone have any idea what it's from?

    800 series filter numbers

Does anyone here have the crossover numbers for the 800 oil filters and fuel filter on the driver's side of the frame?

    Using the trucks part 2

Sometime back there was a topic asking what we use our trucks for. Mine is a work truck but I have had it in some parades. Here's some pictures I took recently.

    Coleman's today

Ok, was it someone from here that was at Coleman's today with the singled deuce with Maryland tags? Sharp looking truck. I'm the guy with the the deuce and trailer that was being loaded when you walked past. Hung around awhile to try and catch you, but I had to leave to go to work. Thanks, Rick

    towing a 5 ton

Wow! What a hornet's nest I have opened up. Lots of opinions. I have contracted a neighbor with a 24 ton lowdeck who is going to haul it home. Safe, easy, reliable. Thanks all for your input.

    towing a 5 ton

All the opinions and I still not really sure what to do. I should have pointed out in the original post that I planned on putting about 4 ton of stone in the deuce dump bed before I towed so to have equal weight as the vehicle being towed. I also planned on connecting the brakes. Tomorrow I'll...

    Deuce parts

Chris, one was a winch truck but I'm not sure what's still there. I know the winch itself is gone. As soon as I get it home or am down at the trucks I'll look and get back to you. Rick

    Deuce parts

In the next few months I will be getting 5 deuce parts trucks. The axles and transmissions are sold already. I will be parting out everything else. Cab parts; brade packs; gauges; engines and part; front sheet metal; spring seats; beds; air shift transfer cases and anything else. A few of...

    towing a 5 ton

Hello all. I managed to win a 5 ton on the last GL auction, now figurering out how to get it home. (It's listed as not running). I've tried to tow a M35A2 before without luck. The front wheels would just turn one way or the other and then drag. My towbar is nice and tight so I don't know...

    What's the difference?

David, Thanks, I've been looking through manuals and such and couldn't really find a difference; I thought they were the same. So most likely the X-varient would have been an early production run, correct? I'm thinking of going to a 800 series instead of my M35A2 but wanted to make...

    What's the difference?

I've been researching but other than the grills what is the difference between an M818 and an XM818? The XM818's or at least some of them seem to have a deuce-style grill vs the tubular on the M818.

Pennsylvania M35A2 owners.....A couple questions for you.

I've had a M35A2 registered in PA since 1999. I've had two different ones both registered antique/historical. 1st was a cargo bought direct from DRMO before GL days and 2nd bought private. No problems titleing; I had a SF97 both times. 1st was a cargo; 2nd is a cargo truck now with a civvy...

    800 series road speed

Ok all you 800 series owners, what's the comfortable road speed of a stock 800 series truck? I'm thinking of switching to a 5 ton for the truck I use to work with. My deuce with 14.5R 20s will run a comfortable 52 all day and I don't want to get any slower. Thanks, Rick

    What to expect-buying a deuce-moving cross country

cross country move This would be a trip to remember............good memories or bad memories. The main thing is prep, prep, and prep. Change (or have Dave change) the belts, hoses, fluids, and any other rubber parts that may have dried out. Take along a spare set of belts, hoses, and other...

m35a2 with trashed rear spring seat/tandem axil

Gene, I had the same thing happen on my truck. From your pictures it looks like your truck is one of the fairly late models, in the late 60's or 70's. These later ones had coned inserts shaped like tapered roller bearings but were just a bushing. I would highly recommend replacing the whole...

    Duals to Singles

flipped hubs I flipped mine about 3 years ago. I would have at least a spare or two of the seals handy in case you mess one up switching them. There are inner and outer seals which are different and they will need to be flipped when you flip the hubs. If you have the money I'd replace them...

    Blower motor draw

blower motor draw It could be where you are drawing current from. Perhaps the circuit you tapped from is too light and affecting the volt meter. I would temporarily direct wire to the battery and watch the volt meter then. If it still drops then you have a problem. I had a batch of bad...
