AcDelco Replacement Lock Cylinders, General Anti-Theft Tips

Agreed. I think you really need to understand the nature of the thief. Having grown up in the city, and mostly in apartments, the way I see it there are 2 main types of thieves. (#1) the crack/meth head.. & (#2) the feral welfare baby. The garden variety drug addicted, street urchin, slug, is...

AcDelco Replacement Lock Cylinders, General Anti-Theft Tips

A kill switch is going to be your best & most practical solution. Who wants to fool with chains or bars every time you go into a store? As mentioned previously these trucks are mostly off the crackhead radar. I think most thieves are looking for loose items left in your vehicle. And also take...

HA! Basically. Ironically those drapes she's wearing would cost more then most wedding dresses.

    Improvised seat cover......

Well the way I see it this is a $30.00 disposable seat cover that could double as a blanket if need be. Walmart throw away seat covers go for around $40.00. The slits are in a non stress point and at most would need some anti fraying support, thus the hot glue. Before starting my furniture...

    Glove box hinge fix

So I'm doing some organizing in the cab of my M1028 sense space is soo limited in the cabs of these trucks. And I want to utilize all the little nooks & crannies as best as possible, to hold all my supplies needed for my business. The plastic glove box door has bin broken sense I bought the...

    Improvised seat cover......

Yeah I thought about hitting it with some hot glue. You can't see the cut anyway sense they tuck into the seat belt holes.

    Improvised seat cover......

I thought you guys might find this interesting or just amusing :shrugs:. The duct tape seat repair I made a few months ago started getting glue on the back of all my pants. So I figured I'd give this a try. It's a military poncho liner woobie. It comes with ties all the way around it. I used...

My "Go anywhere" M1010 mobile office/camper build.

Well boosting will reveal any bad parts. But the way I see it their just that, bad parts that would have failed anyway:shrugs: I installed the banks turbo at around 30,000 miles. It ran fine for about 20,000 miles till the head gaskets let go. But then any 30+ year old 6.2 is going to need head...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

Agreed small towns here in rural GA will issue $300.00 speeding tickets. And if you go to court the prosecutor will pull all the speeders out into the hall, and offer to reduce the ticket to $60.00, and get this ("REMOVE THE TICKET FROM YOUR RECORD"):recovry4x4: if you plead out. Talk about a...

After 300 mile roadtrip I got back home to slower speeds and a noidy off-idle rattle.

Well your evidence points to a fuel issue. The question is what is it? Could be bad fuel, or a fuel pick up and delivery issue. At this point I'd just drain & drop the tank, then replace the fuel pick up components & hoses. How old is your lift pump?

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

Well the gauge thing is easy. I've broken the line 3 or 4 times while working under the hood. It's just a line coupler, advanced sells them on the little spinning rack on their fastener isle.

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

Well did some digging, in the comments section on Summit's site this seems to be a common problem. They were either returned or "made to fit". Also the heater core lines size were mentioned as an issue. Is it possible for you to return it?

    Do I really want a M1009? (MPG)

Yeah you'll need to use GPS if you want an accurate reading. My speedo reads randomly, depending on outside temperature and never quite correct no matter what:shrugs:. I use the (SpeedView) APP on my phone. My best MPG to date after new head gaskets is 19MPG's (M1028, Gearvendors over drive...

Any reason I would have 2 lift pumps?

Good point, I'm not sure how the GM turbo is plumbed? But the Banks kit I installed on my 6.2 has a block that goes in between the mechanical pump & engine block for the drain back. I suppose you could order one from Banks. Might be cheaper & easier then a fancy electric fuel pump?
