We just installed the Greek harness in my 37. They are color coded (if you don't have the schematic I can send it to you). They have the 2 piece metal shell connectors (not sure on Douglas/Packard - which is which). There is a "mis-wire" between the front and rear harness but my diagram shows...
Thanks for the suggestion.
It turns out Timo247's truck has 2 working glowplugs so we'll be replacing all of his. Four of them were replaced with the bullet style ends using connectors from the spade fittings and ending in alligator clips. This truck came from Camp Mabry. WTH were they...
With a little modification we were able to get the new brake light switch in yesterday. The factory switch has 2 male prong connectors and the new switch had 1 male and 1 external female (a larger 2 part prong with a hollow center). Keith was able to crimp the female portion into a male (no...
Well we actually got Timo's 1009 running this afternoon. He helped keith_j put the alts in and do the Doghead Starter Relay mod then with some fresh diesel, tried bleeding the lines - Nothing! Keith then pulled his Mighty-Vac out and helped get the diesel up to the filter and we gave it a shot...
Patrick has some big shoes to fill. I can't imagine there is any sibling rivalry there.
Glad to hear David is home safe. Life's going to seem boring not having someone shooting at your windows.
The only real mod you need to worry about right now is the one that makes it go from not running to running. There are lots of necessary things that need to take place before the "pimp my ride" stuff is even considered.
More work on the wiring today. We found several spots in the Greek harness where the solder joints had come apart and other spots where the ends were not crimped properly. I'm hoping we don't have to go through the entire loom and check everything.
Was able to get a later model brake light...
Didn't spend a lot of time on it today but did verify we're getting power into the brake switch but still not functioning.
One of the issues is that the turn signals were an add-on by the military at some point (newer style connectors) but they run together with the brake lights and they're...
With Keith once again carrying the brunt of the load we finished most of the wiring yesterday. We're using a Greek, color-coded loom which has a couple of errors in it so with the schematic from that and also a copy of the original harness diagram we've been able to figure most of it out...

Sorry about the limited info but the truck came without a data plate. Serial number is directly from the frame. Unk year but probably early 60s based on the serial number.
It's getting close. I have to say there's no feeling quite like putting the reflectors back on. You know you're almost to the end at that point.
Major to-do is still the wiring but we should knock that out in a couple of days next week. Keith_j is going dove hunting this weekend so I gave...
I got mine at Vintage PowerWagon. Not exactly like the original but works and appearance wise is pretty much the same.
You have to wonder sometimes what people are thinking when they do something like that. At 16 I used a lot of Bondo in weird places but you'd hope adults would be a little...
The gap between the fender and bedside panel on the left rear is because it's still loose waiting for the welting.
Of course we may have jumped the gun putting the heater back on because we didn't do the left engine cover rubber yet. Oops.
