    it could happen but i havent had a problem.a southern trailer in rustfree condition and common sense go a long way.the rivets could get sheared if abused.

    use stock chevrolet rims with 245/75/16 and it will lower 4 inches.pulls easier too.

    that picture is a m101 vietnam era.they used 8 lug 16 inch wheels in the mid 80s till middle 90s.the older trailers had 6 lug wheels with split rims

    buy a m101a2.all you have to do is remove 2 bolts and replace with clevis pins.apply brakes and back up its easy.

    a chevrolet.gmc wheel is a direct bolt on.a ford f=250/350 wheel also fits but the center is slightly larger.also dodge d250/350 is a direct bolt on any 80s to mid 90s wheels work fine.
