I have been observing that fewer deuces are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. And the prices on the ones left for sale seem to have risen. What are the deuces in your area selling for or priced to sell for?
My deuce has been moved once in three years. To my new smaller home after my wife passed.
It has been started once since 2015.
My son is running for political office and wanted to drive it in the parade tomorrow.
Brakes in good order. Check.
Batteries started the engine. Check.
Tires...
I have not posted in some time as I have been adjusting to a new life style after the death of my wife in 2014. But, my son is running for the District Clerk's Office of Denton County, Texas, and he decided to drive the deuce in the parade on the 4th.
My outside rear tires are cracked from the...
With the death of my wife, moving from our home to a smaller location, engaging in Deuce time went to **** about two years or so ago.
Went into the backyard today and fired it up. I could not believe the batteries were red hot the motor turned over rapidly and it soon got to running just fine...
When I joined here in 2007 I did not know crap about military vehicles. Five vehicles later I have learned some.
I remember the Longest Day when the beach commander tells some Brits to get their Bren carrier moving. They said it would not start so the beach commander took his walking stick...
I have no idea what I am doing with this. The brakes appear stuck at the rear. Never worked on brakes such as this before.
Any ideas on where to start?
I am approaching six years as a member here. Lots of fun since that time and lots of learning.
Two members have been kind enough to show me the way in maintaining and operating my two deuces.
First, was JT. John Tennis directed me to the AVM lockout hubs and later to the spin on oil and fuel...
I overheated this morning in a parade. I figured bad water pump? Bad thermostat?
Drained the radiator at the bottom drain. Maybe two gallons+ coolant came out.
Is that too little coolant to drain out? Maybe I was just low on coolant?
I do not recall when I bought my winch deuce and a half. Four or five years ago at the least. It was my second and a good buy at $1250 from GL in OKC.
The batteries failed on Saturday. I thought I had replaced them some time back.
Turns out the Continental 6TL were in the truck when I...
I ruptured my Achilles tendon in January. Rehab is no fun.
For three months I wore a boot to prevent further harm and allow healing.
I have just begun learning to walk without it again.
I have not been able to move about much without pain and working on the deuce has been iffy at best.
At...
I bought my first of three deuces in 2007. Strange vehicles to say the least. I began replacing the worn stuff first. Tires, gauges, seat covers and such. Then I moved to the engine stuff, new belts and such.
Along the way I became acquainted on the net with a guy know mostly as JT. He was...
I have had two exact duplicate bearing mounts made. More can be made.
This came from an original bearing mount bracket as a pattern.
I have a close to original bearing bracket shield. I need an original to compare and build from. If you have one that I can borrow for a couple of weeks, it...
I located a former fire service M135 W/W one day before it was to be scrapped.
I managed to save the entire winch drive line. The winch was cracked at the bottom of the alloy cover, the shear pin sheared off and no pillow bearing shield was present.
The pictures of the front drive shaft...
Using measurements and pics provided by members here and an actual under cab brace provided by another member, I am constructing a proto-type winch bracket and shield plus making some accurate replica under cab braces and j-bolt.
Is anyone interested in having one or more of these for their...
