    M818 24volt to 12volt trailer lights

Looks like you answered your own question..! You're right, the voltage is checked with the load applied. :D

    M818 24volt to 12volt trailer lights

Steelandcanvas is correct. This is the ground wire. Too many times a ground wire is omitted in truck to trailer pigtails in the hopes that grounding will be accomplished thru the fifth wheel, pintle hitch, trailer ball, etc. This almost always causes problems.

    813 with final drives?

This thing is interesting to say the least..! The cross shaft behind the differential appears to be the locking mechanism to lock the two axles together, for all wheel drive, engaged by the air chamber on the left side.

    813 with final drives?

The "powered walking beam" is very similar to road grader finals that are sometimes chain driven inside the case. These appear to be gear driven due to the visible bearing retainer plates along the case. This type of drive system allows a much further range of articulation without the binding of...

Why is this site so slow...???

I have not had any issues lately using DSL. I am not a computer nerd, but, I would guess the 3G might be the problem. I am a fan of Verizon using their phone service for years. My brother IS a computer nerd. He says using 3G(which he has) does not compare to DSL (which he also has).

The very next day......!!!!!! The very next day my buddy called cussing/crying..! Stuck again..! aua He was working on a hill, leveling for a pole barn. Knocked down a few trees that could reach the barn in a wind storm. His customer wanted them pushed down in a nearby "holler". The mouth of...

    5 Ton saving a D5 Caterpillar

The scotch anchor is a "last resort" method for an open range situation. Anchoring in the pintle is the strongest possible point on the truck. The forces at work are transmitted longitudinally through the truck frame all the way to the winch. There was absolutely no possible way for the frame to...

    5 Ton saving a D5 Caterpillar

You would love to see all of his equipment. He is a one man operation and keeps his D5, 955 loader, Cat backhoe and Bobcat skidsteer looking like new all the time. It was killing him to see his baby down in the mud..! He won't even haul it when the roads are wet (seriously) much less when it is...

    5 Ton saving a D5 Caterpillar

My buddy stuck his D5N the other day. He has always helped me out so I jumped at the chance to help him. Anchored to two trees the M818 idled the Cat out of its quagmire..!! Used a snatch block on the dozer draw bar to double the line pull. He was pizzed cuz he was stuck, but I was enjoying it...!!

Here the M818 is hooked to a pole trailer. We are removing this 48,000 pound concrete monopole. It was 148' tall. We had to saw the pole in two for transport and disposal.

    M818 24volt to 12volt trailer lights

I do not have provisions for electric brakes on this truck. Here is a picture of the only pintle trailer that I own and it has air brakes. My conversion is by far the cheapest of all mentioned here, but would not be my choice if I did need electric brakes. The relay method would be the way I...
