Jack it up and check the operation of the rear tires. Slowly spin them in the same direction, grab one and jerk it in the opposite direction, the locker should disengage and "click" as the other tire spins.

If you are like me, there isn't a place to get custom made u-bolts within a days drive. Leaving me with only one choice.

Rear u-bolts I assume? The kit "should" have included the correct u-bolts for a 3/4 ton, but in the case of a CUCV, you will have to do the rear u-bolt "flip" which requires a new rear spring plate.

Cut the 90* bend off at the frame( the one that points toward the rear axle) and slip a new rubber hose and clamp on it at the frame. This will eliminate that S shaped hose that has no reason to be that shape and replace it with a common part that has one 90* bend in it(or less). I just did...

My '84 1008 does have a 461 CID Big Block Chevy. The lift is going on the '86 1028. All bolt on with no sheetmetal trimming, just in case I ever want to bring it back to stock. It is one of the straightest CUCV's I have ever seen. I guess it being an Air Force truck, it lived an easy life.

Well I guess all the thinking and looking is over. Its gonna be 8" suspension and 385 XML's on 16x10's. Going for a stock 1028 with some attitude look.

I'm still debating between 33's, 35's, or 38's. How do these truck run out on the road with a 38" tire?
