    Odd engine behavior

Alright, I took the IP cover off to adjust the fuel screw a tad higher, put it all back together, snugged the cover up, bled it at the filter and at an injector, then took it for a drive. It began displaying random erratic rpm changes during steady cruising (every 10-15 minutes). It would...

    Oil Pressure Gauge

I bought and installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge today, i tapped into the valve on the drivers side of the radiator. Cracked open the valve, started the engine and the gauge was reading a steady 55psi and not budging, even when hammering the throttle. I did notice that little valve was...

Starter problems or more than that?

Just tried to start my m1009, engine cranked slowly for about half a second then stopped. I attempted to start it again by hitting the push start button and it just clicks loudly each time i push it. I then checked the engine oil and nothing was on the dipstick, so I added a gallon of oil. Tried...

    m1009 transfercase vent

Are the np208 transfercase vents similar to that on deuce axles? you push them down, release, they pop back up? or what? because im getting leaks from both slip yokes on my transfercase, after changing both seals, so now im just curious about that vent. Also, are these vents actually threaded...

Won my first GL auction, 5 ton m931 Indiana

As the title states, I won my first GL auction yesterday afternoon and it being a 5ton m931a1. I rang up GL in an attempt at extending the removal period beyond 10 days so I could try to straighten out transporting options, but to no avail they declined my request. I don't know if anyone has...

    Winch Brackets?

I've searched around for winch mounting brackets and bumper extension brackets, but have nearly come up dry. I've posted in the classifieds and have looked at numerous MV suppliers, as well as ebay. The only place that carry the 4 brackets would be tnjmurray, but will run me $300 + shipping for...

Just picked up an m35 winch

Just picked up a winch locally for my m35, paid $200 for it. It leaks oil when filled, but it runs good when connected to a pto and has great looking gears on the inside. I'm wondering if I got a good deal or not.

    Pyrometer Wiring

Tried wiring for the first time. Stripped part of the temp gauge wires and soldered onto them with correct polarity. I connected up the gauge and flipped the accessory switch, but it did not turn on/illuminate. What am I doing wrong?

    External fuel pump E8131

I just installed the external fuel pump after some help from "kennys@wi.rr.com" with diagnosing my dead in tank pump (thanks again, Kenny). I'm wondering how well this pump works vs the stock pump and does it do an adequate job of pulling the fuel from the bottom of the tank?

    Bearing is stuck

I was under the impression that the inner wheel bearing would just slide on, but for some reason it hung up. I tried hitting around the bearing with a hammer, but now it's just stuck even more. It will not budge in either direction. Should the bearing require force for installation or is it...

    Packing Bearings

This would be my first attempt at packing bearings, so I purchased a "Lisle bearing packer" to help me do the job. At this point I'm not at all certain if I'm doing it properly or if the device is even working right.

I need help removing my axle seal

I'm having quite a hard time trying to remove the inner axle seal on the passenger side. The slide hammer doesn't seem to be doing anything at all besides breaking my hand and wrist. Are there any other ways of doing this?

    Couple of questions

I'm currently in the process of changing the front axle boots and I'm wondering where the fill port is on the axle to re-top it off with 85w90 gear oil? For the 2nd question, does the airpack need to be completely removed to get to the vent line? Is the vent line behind the airpack?

Is this DOT 3 or DOT 5?

Picture below, a bit of brake fluid from the master cylinder mixed with some water in a jar. The fluid seems to have separated itself from the water. Dot 3 or Dot 5?

    Sudden Fast Oil Leak

Let's begin this by saying I've been driving the truck nearly most the day in 90 degree 100% humidity weather, if that matters. I would guesstimate a total of 60 miles. A lot of brake usage, stop lights, etc. 4 engine shut off's and 3 starts in total for today. Everytime I made a stop I would...

    Questions about removing deuce wheels

What are the best ways of removing the wheels on a deuce? I'm thinking of either going with a pneumatic impact wrench or a breaker bar type of setup. Will the impact wrench be able to run off the deuces emergency air with a 3/8 fitting? Also, What size/type sockets will be needed for lug removal?

    Common Rain Leaks?

It started to rain today, so I thought it would be a good idea to see what the inside of the cab looked like. Surprisingly it wasn't leaking at all from the soft top or windows, but instead water was pouring in from underneath the instrument panel and from under the steering wheel. Is this a...

    Leaking Deuce

After a brief overview of the inside of the hood and the underneath of my deuce, I've noticed a few leaks and took pictures of what I could see. If there's any that appear to be significant and need attention please let me know. Thanks!
