What did you do to your deuce this week?

Oil change and filters (spin ons). Drain and refill transfer case and tranny. Full grease job, man there is a lot of fitting?! Then a nice long 100 mile plus cruise around home on the back roads in south Arkansas. Next thing I need to do is repack the rear axle bearing. While I'm in there...

    exhaust temp

Adjust Fuel first If you drilled/tapped and mounted your probe above the turbo in the cast iron manifold you are in the right spot. You say you added the turbo so the adjustment you want to make is to the fuel rate/amount. I don't believe timing adjustment is needed. There is a sticky with...

    Arkansas MV Registration

I must have got lucky when I licensed mine in Camden. They had some experience with licensing several CUCVs from GL and gave me an Antique tag with no trouble. Hey Rebel! I wish I had seen this post earlier and maybe could have helped by recommending you come over here for tags. ARYankee...

How to remove pas. seat back?

Thanks for all the info. The video is really nice. Re-installing does sound troublesome, I don't want to tear up the new fabric.

How to remove pas. seat back?

Going to recover my seats but not sure how to remove the passenger seat cushions from their frames. Back doesn't have any bolts that I can see. Thanks for any help.

Great service at Red River (Hooks, TX)

Just made another pick up out of Hooks, TX and as always had a great experience. Got a load of tires this time. Other pick ups have been a M35A2, M105 trailer and assorted containers and tools. They have also let me have long, indepth previews. When I bought my truck they let me preview 12 ea...

    Anyone see this stuff before?

Your first pic of the Winter Start is a new one on me. Appears to be a motor oil thinner for sub-zero temps. If it is petroleum based it will burn fine, might even be good stuff to thin some thick WMO. The Run-Rite is a thin solvent like MEK, Toulene, etc. Similiar to high octane gas, again if...

    WMO engine problems

Wmo I made a 200 mile road trip Monday into Red River to pick up some tires. First 100 miles was on 100% WMO (filtered to 5 micron) that I usually feed it. On the way back I filled the fuel tank up with diesel to a 50/50 mixture and after 20 miles or so i noticed it was down a little bit on...

Why do you love your deuce?

How about top five reasons not to love a Deuce? 1. People bug you for information on where they can get one. 2. Little kids wave and salute you like a soldier. 3. Old lady drivers almost run off the road to get out of your way. 4. Hot chics stop and want to look at your truck and ask for...

    Gauge Lighting

I followed curryra's method with the flexible LED lights and it works great. Bought them at Wally World in the auto customizing section, $14 for 2 ea. foot long strips. Light up blue in color, cut off original wires from gauge lights and wired in the LEDS. Wrapped strips around gauge windows...

    Installing m35 lockout hubs.

Installed AVMs in about half an hour. Got torque values from TM. Big improvement in steering effort, on my truck it cut steering wheel turning force at low speed in half! Smoother and quieter running on highway. Mileage? Who knows, I run such a mixture of WMO and other stuff I can't really...

    flushing radiator/block

My M35A2 ran about same temps on 90 mile drive home from GL lot. Decided to flush cooling system shortly afterwards. Took off bottom hose and removed thermostat. Stuck water hose into thermostat hole on intake manifold with rag to seal it up. Turned hose on high and was shocked to see thick...

    Registering Deuce in Arkansas

Registered my M35A2 in Camden, Ar. with no problems. They had experience from several CUCV vehicles that run the road locally. Head lady in charge told the girl at counter "If it says US Government on the form just do it" :-P Asked about antique tag and their answer was that it had to be in or...

Deuce has a low air leak

After having my M35A2 a while I mentioned to my brother who owns and drives semi-tractors that my air would leak down overnight. He laughed at me and said "that ain't a leak!" But seriousely, I would like to make my system more air tight............

    Have you named you truck?

I call mine "The Big Jeep" because I also have "The Little Jeep" to match. Made it simplier to tell wife which vehicle we're taking out LOL! :-)

    DC converter wiring

Look at the wiring diagrams in the Tech manuals and find a hot wire either before or after power switch. Depends on whether you want hot all the time or only when you have power on. All wires have a metal tag with number that matchs diagram.

    Cooling system flush

Did same things shortly after getting my truck home. Be sure to back flush engine block because that's where all my gunk came out of. Took off bottom hose and removed thermostat. Stuck water hose into thermostat hole on intake manifold with rag to seal it up. Turned hose on high and was...

    DC converter wiring

I just wired in a 24 to 12 volt converter to my Deuce. Already had main battery/power cutoff switch in battery box, so wired from it to converter then out to separate 6 circuit fuse block for 12 v. only stuff. Also wired a separate 24v. fuse block for heater , lights, etc. Both systems...

What is the lowest temp your deuce started in

Was 18 degrees (above zero) other morning and had to test the duece for starting. Cranked about 10 seconds with no manifold heat (does not work) and fired right up! That was with a 75% WMO mix in it. Idled rough for short time then smoothed out. Looking good................
