    Chains vs. Singles

for snow and ice there is nothing better than a set of chains, snow and ice traction is all about ground pressure, I even have a set on my skidloader, makes snow removal very easy even when you get 22 inches of snow

i've been thinking of a tractor singled out and set up with a dump bed i don't really wanna cut up my deuce, soon as i do i'll want a cargo truck again

6x6 super single I saw at FT Carson GL lot

depends on what your gonna do with it, that cat is expensive to work on and doesn't match up to the trans real well, ok for a light hauler or parade vehicle

    M37 - NDTs or NDCCs?

my m-37 had ndt's on it amd the mold dates if I remember right were the early 50's, but its been a while since I owned it, but they were ndts for sure, wish I had some pics sorry about that

    New guy from Ioway

welcome to the site, I was kind of alone when I lived in Iowa and drove a deuce, now that I moved there seems to be more. As close as you live make a point to make it to Iola late summer, well worth the short dive.

Going to look at Deuce -HELP-

depends on how far it is for you to rescue a deuce from a gl site, we got 2 out of mccoy last year for $1500 ea. , but it was only 75 mi. away to inspect and drive back, both good runners, one is as nice a truck as I've sen on a gl site, some broken glass, but new rubber and a motor to die for...

    9.00 x 20 snow tread

that tread pattern on a set of 1100-20s singled in the rear looks like what I may try on my deuce. Thanks for the idea, didn't feel like taking the plunge on a set of radials and modifying a set of rims. If they don't live up to expectations I'll be out less money than if i didn't like the...

    11x20 VS 395 offroad performance

I've been watching this thread with interest, looking to change over to radials, but I'm getting mixed signals, if you use your truck off-road as in haul lots in the bed are the bigger radials something to look at, or should I be looking at 1100 ndt singles? Been kicking this around for 3 years...

    uhh where did Memphis go?

I have dealt with memphis on several occasions, they are defineatly not the cheapest, but on the other hand helped a greenhorn(me) through a couple of repairs to my truck when I first got it. service parts and shipping were all better than another dealer I dealt with. It is strange how...

Which is the most trouble free engine?

depends on what you are gonna do with it, for occasional usage a well cared for multi will last forever, I've seen White tractors with 10,000 hrs on them with the hercules version of the multi. The cummins I hear is very good engine, had one worked good had no toubles with it. The cat is as...

WTF is this from the turbo?

yep get her under load, and run her hard it'll clear up after a few miles. my truck will do this because it is humid in the woods here, and most jobs I use it for are small, but once a month it gets used like it should, and smokes to beat the band.

    "car show winner"

A buddy of mine has a 57 chev drag car that looks real good, and I challenged him to show up at a car show with it. He said I will if you will, so I showed up. Backed into a spot between a 69 camaro and a 40 Ford buisness coupe, both owners couldn't stand to watch there really wasn't enough...

Dump beds - using wood isolators?

If it were my truck I would install them. I made a dump out of an old flatbed truck years ago, and the old boy helping me said he'd never put one together without them, and he really knew his stuff. I got mine from a local sawmill, red oak lasts a lifetime.

Is a Deuce a redneck truck?

I believe if you are that far north redneck is called a flannel back ernie, around here I get both. Either way I don't care, jelousy will get them nowhere

    Weekend in the mud

probobly the only reasom he got stopped was the back end started to float! Would make for an easy recovery if it never sank.

    wheel seal install?

a driver will make life much easier, I found an appropriate size tube at work, and tacked an end to hit with the "swing press"

    Deuce for practical off-road work

a deuce is the perfect farm vehicle, no matter what joe blow says. I've had a lot of wood on mine, and went through knee deep mud, no problems, but like rockman says ice is a whole nother story. They are cheaper to operate than most civilian trucks, and there is more pride in ownership, at least...

    Trailering a M35a2

hes got singles in the back so he should be fine as far as width, but you will have some overhang, depending on wether or not theres a dovetail or not
